I wash a LOT of my carvings because they get dirty for one reason or another. When you do, it can really heal a carving for a new carver, the wood swells a little, closing up superfluous cuts, and making the carving look buttery smooth. Depending on the style or carving, you may lose some detail, so if I did a fancy caricature bust thay was 8 inches tall, i'm not washing it. but a little thing under 4 inche? I was nearly all of them. #woodcarving #whittling #woodart #folkart #woodcraft
