The key to keeping your tobacco pipe lit is twofold, a proper false light and learning to use your tamper... The false light is important because as soon as you light your tobacco, it expands and becomes a little looser. That's why the first thing you should do is gently tamp it back down. The benefit is that you're creating a layer of ash across the top of the bowl. Think of it like a blanket. That layer helps insulate the embers underneath, so when you relight, those embers can keep burning and your pipe stays lit longer. That's the purpose of the false light. From that point on, all you're doing is enjoying your pipe and periodically using your tamper to gently press the ash back down, keeping that protective layer compact. As the ember works its way down through the bowl, that ash layer continues to protect it, helping it burn more evenly and stay lit longer. And thats the trick to keeping a tobacco pipe lit. #Pipesmoking #tobaccopipes #tobaccopipe #ytpc #pipesmokers
